Fromm Pinot Noir Selvenen Malans – 2024

From a mix of 55 year old and 28 year old vines grown on slate and limestone soils. 13.5% alc.

Selvenen is the most important in size of Fromm’s six single vineyards, producing just under 400 cases in the low-yielding 2024 vintage. It has a powerful, complex nose with notes of dark cherry, blackcurrant, black pepper, cedar and eucalyptus. On the palate, ripe, warm fruit is balanced by lively acidity and full-bodied, firm tannins. As is so often the case, the Selvenen is once again the most exuberant of Fromm’s six single-vineyard Pinots in 2024. A wine with a long finish and immense potential, which should develop beautifully in bottle for 8-10 years.

Dichte, dunkle Rubinrote Farbe. Eine kräftige, vielschichtige Nase mit dunkler Kirsche, Johannisbeere, schwarzem Pfeffer, Zeder, und Eukalyptus. Im Gaumen eine reife, warme Frucht, gekontert von einer animierenden Säure und gaumenfüllendem, griffigem Tannin. Wie so oft ist der Selvenen auch 2024 der stürmischste Vertreter unserer sechs Einzellagen-Pinots. Ein Wein mit langem Nachhall und riesigem Potential.
