At Real Wines we have a carefully selected range of our favourite fine wines from each vintage.

Our fine wine range focusses mainly on Bordeaux, our favourite producers from Burgundy, some rare old Champagnes, top Rhone reds and Supertuscans.

Paul would be happy to offer his personal advice and experience if you are starting a new cellar, improving  your current cellar, or looking to sell some fine wines.

If you’re spending the significant amounts of money required to buy the best fine wines, then you need to make sure that you store your purchases in perfect conditions.

Only then will they hit the peaks in quality they are capable of, and if you ever decide you’d rather resell a case of fine wine than drink it yourself, the wine’s resale value will also be maximised if it has been stored perfectly over its lifetime.

If you buy your fine wines from Real Wines we would be happy to store your wines in our secure and perfectly equipped cellars near Zürich.

The temperature in our cellars is a constant 14-16 degrees Centigrade and your wines would only be moved when you ask for them to be delivered to you. Our storage charges, including insurance and all other costs, are CHF 2.- per 75cl bottle per year, so CHF 24.- per case of 12 bottles per annum. If you have wines you would like to store with us, then we would be happy to do this if you spend over CHF 1’500.- on buying wine from Real Wines first.

There are few better ways to celebrate a year that was special to you than by drinking a wine made in that year, from grapes which lived and experienced the rain, the wind and the sun of that year, and which therefore reflect that year more profoundly than any other souvenir. You can of course watch television clips, read newspaper articles or listen to music from your special year, and this will no doubt bring back vivid memories. But wine is a living memory, a REAL experience of the conditions of that vintage.

There can be no more soulful way to relive a specific period in time.
But of course not all wines will taste great after 40, 50 or more years. And different vintages were strong or weak in different wine regions. If you would like our recommendations of the best wines to drink from specific years, please contact Paul on paul@realwines.ch . He would be delighted to source these wines for you at fair prices.

The best way to learn about fine wines is to taste them, and the most economical way of doing this is in a group to share the high cost of each bottle. If you would be interested in attending our fine wine events in the future, please contact us
