Fromm Pinot Noir Küng Malans – 2024

Küng is Fromm’s newest single vineyard addition to their range, situated on slate soils in the heart of the village of Malans just below the winery. The vines are a mix of 43 year old Swiss clones and 16 year old Burgundy clones and a high proportion of whole bunch fruit is used in the fermentation, giving a spicy strucure and freshness to the wine.

On the palate it already displays astonishing harmony, elegance and dynamism. Sour cherry, redcurrant, plum, hazelnut,  eucalyptus and a hint of undergrowth. A wonderful fusion of power, density, spice and alpine freshness. 13.5% alc. Just under 150 cases were produced in the 2024 vintage.

Das jüngste Mitglied unserer Lagen-Pinots und doch schon  unverkennbar in seinem Charakter. Frucht, Würze und  Vegetabilität. Schweizer Reben, Burgunder Reben und ein grosser Anteil Ganztrauben. Im Gaumen zeigt er schon eine erstaunliche Harmonie, Eleganz und Dynamik. Sauerkirsche, Johannisbeere, Zwetschge, Haselnuss, Eukalyptus und leichtes Unterholz. Eine wunderbare Fusion von Kraft, Dichte, Würze und alpiner Frische. Long live the Küng!
