Katie Jones is an English lady who followed her dream and set up her own wine domaine in the mid 1990s in the rugged, windswept hills around Tuchan in Fitou AC in the far south west of the Languedoc.
This is not actually a rosé, but a light-bodied, refreshing, floral and cherry-flavoured red which would be perfect served slightly chilled as an apero or with some charcuterie, grilled chicken or fish. It would make an ideal summer red, packed with the wild and wonderful scents of the deep south west of France.
It is named after the numerous cherry trees which grow around Katie’s vineyards. She cheekily refers to it as “young vines” because all her other wines come from vines over 80 years old. For her, anything less than that is young!
