Te Mata Estate Chardonnay Hawkes Bay – 2022

Aromas of ripe grapefruit, lemon, white peach, pineapple and freshly baked sourdough all jump from the glass. With taut acidity and bright fruit flavours alongside savoury notes of roast cashew, cinnamon and sea salt, this is classical Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay with excellent intensity and complexity for the price.

This wine can be enjoyed on its own, or as a wonderful partner for both simple and fuller flavoured seafood and white meat dishes

WINEMAKING

Estate Chardonnay ’21 combines the best of traditional and modern winemaking. This involved tank fermentation to preserve the vibrant varietal aromas and clear, fresh fruit expression along with some barrel fermentation, barrel maturation on gross lees, and malolactic fermentation to enhance the complexity, richness and integration.
