Rainer Wess Grüner Veltliner Reserve Alte Reben: Krems – 2021

The 2021 vintage was of superb quality in the Kremstal region, giving delicious intensity and freshness to the white wines.

From 100 year old, hand-cultivated vines, this wine was wild-yeast fermented then matured in used acacia barrels for 6 months on its lees. 

It has a deep lemon-gold colour and floral, biscuit and spicy aromas. On the palate it is quite broad, rich and complex, with stone fruit and orange and lemon fruit flavours, well-balanced acidity and a peppery, spicy finish. The really old vines give additional complexity and depth of flavour. This is excellent value!
