Fromm Pinot Noir Küng Malans – 2023

Küng is Georg’s newest single vineyard addition to his range, situated in the heart of the village of Malans just below the winery. The vines are a mix of 43 year old Swiss clones and 16 year old Burgundy clones and a high proportion of whole bunch fruit is used in the fermentation, giving a spicy strucure and freshness to the wine.

It has flavours of wild strawberries, dark cherries, hazelnut, flint  and eucalyptus. The attack is juicy and fresh but at the same time palate-filling and deep. Densely structured, with slightly grainy tannins and a very energetic, complex, Pinot-typical length. 13% alcohol. Only 906bts were produced.

Die Trinität des Küngs offenbart sich in derNase wie auch im Gaumen. Frucht, Würze und Vegetabilität oder in anderen Worten: Schweizer Reben, Burgunder Reben und ein grosser Anteil Ganztrauben. Walderdbeeren, dunkle Kirschen, Haselnuss, Feuerstein und Eukalyptus. Der Antrunk ist saftig und frisch
aber zugleich gaumenfüllend und tief. Der Körper dicht  strukturiert und das Tannin leicht körnig. Ein sehr dynamischer, komplexer Pinot mit schöner Länge.
