Biodynamic-certified Clos Bellane are situated at 400mts altitude above the village of Valréas in France’s Southern Rhone region. The vines are cooled by a constant breeze which help give the wines unusual freshness and purity for this warm region.
2020 was a very good, warm and sunny vintage in the southern Rhone. This predominantly Grenache-based red from old vines planted on limestone soils is sexy, hedonistic and plush but with characteristic “Clos Bellane” purity and elegance. The wine was made naturally, using indigenous (natural) yeasts, minimal Suplhur dioxide additions and no filtration, to give a completely pure and unadulterated expression of this unique vineyard. An excellent Chateauneuf du Pape!
