Ch.Thivin Beaujolais Villages Nouveau Gamay Noir Vignes d’Ecussol – 2020
CHF 15.90
This Beaujolais Villages Nouveau was made from vines belonging to the Thivin family with an average age of 50 years old. This, together with the special granite soils on which the vines were grown, make this far superior to your normal Beaujolais Nouveau! The weather during the 2020 growing season was sunny, warm and mainly dry – meaning that the grapes ripened earlier than in any vintage since the heatwave vintage of 2003.
The wine is crammed with strawberry and raspberry fruit flavours, has surprisingly good weight and density, and despite the heat of the vintage remains beautifully fresh and elegant. It really is a very delicious, very moreish Beaujolais which I defy you not to enjoy!
This wine is bottled under screwcap to retain maximum fruit and freshness.
