Zind Humbrecht Pinot Blanc – 2020

This dry white wine is in fact a blend of 30% Pinot Blanc and 70% Auxerrois (which is related to the Pinot Blanc grape!)

It comes from 45 year old vines on the Rotenberg and Herrenweg vineyards. This 2020 has perfect ripeness and balance and was fermented completely dry. The palate has gentle fruit flavours of yellow plums and pears and shows impressive minerality for the “humble” Pinot Blanc/Auxerrois grapes.

This wine is richer and more intense than most previous vintages. It represents a superb introduction to Olivier Humbrecht’s very interesting 2020 vintage and will drink beautifully this summer. 

13.2% alcohol. Sweetness indice 1 (ie it’s almost bone dry, with 6.2g/l of residual sugar)
