Tiergarten vineyard in situated in the municipality of Maienfeld, very close to Silas’s top vineyard – Carsilias. It is very small , with low yielding, 45 year old Pinot Noir vines – total production in 2023 was only 900 bottles!
The wine is wild-fermented in open top wooden vats, then pressed and matured for 12 months in French barriques.
The wine has a ruby red colour. The nose shows many light berry components; raspberry, strawberry and a fine roasted flavour create a rounded, beautiful picture.
On the palate, the Tiergarten is the flattering type – balanced, round and very smooth.
A dream when young, this will become even more refined with age.
Der Wein zeigt ein kräftiges Rubinrot. Die Nase zeigt viele Hellberige Komponente. Himbeere, Erdbeere und feine Röstaroma zeigen ein rundes schönes Bild.
Im Gaumen ist der Tiergarten der Schmeichler Typ. Ausgewogen, rund und geschmeidig. In jungen Jahren ein Traum, welcher sich mit dem Alter noch verfeinern wird.
