The long, warm and sunny 2022 vintage in the Bündner Herrschaft produced Chardonnay and Pinot Noirs with beautifully ripe fruit flavours but which retain plenty of freshness, elegance
and a juicy acidity. This was one of the best vintages in Georg Fromm’s long winemaking career!

From a mix of 50 year old and 25 old vines grown on slate and limestone soils, this is fresh and mineral, with ripe and concentrated flavours of cassis, black cherry, black pepper and spice. It has firm underlying tannins and a lot of freshness and elegance. The finish is characterised by ripe fruit and spicy, floral notes of violets, cedar and flint. 

This should develop beautifully in bottle for at least ten years. 13.5% alcohol.

“Based on Swiss and French clones, the 2022 Malanser Pinot Noir Selvenen is deep, intense and concentrated on the slightly toasty nose that delivers ripe cherry, black berry, licorice and chocolate aromas. Round and juicy on the palate, this full-bodied and juicy yet pithy red is savory and firmly structured by fine but serious, fine-grained and crunchy tannins that intermingle with the saline/mineral acidity, which leads to a long, pure and intense, very persistent and aromatic finish. This is a super young but excellent, very promising and age-worthy Pinot with a rather muscular or masculine character. Very exciting, 13.5% stated alcohol. Diam cork.
