Villa Maria Reserve Pinot Noir Marlborough – 2020

This Pinot Noir comes from a selection of Villa Maria’s best vineyard plots in Marlborough. It has bright floral aromas as well as fresh black cherries and red raspberries. On the palate is an inviting mixture of dark chocolate and juicy summer berries with hints of fresh portobello mushrooms. This complex wine shows both purity and richness with chalky dense tannins and a gentle acidity to complete the wine.
2020 was a near perfect vintage in New Zealand. This barrel-matured Pinot should therefore develop in fruit weight and savoury characters over a few years in bottle.
