“The 2023 Vat 47 Chardonnay is spicy and taut, with pineapple husk and white pepper, scratched lemon and pith, brine and chalk. The wine is tense and nervy at this stage, although the weight of the fruit sits at the back of the palate and draws out over the long finish. Chalky phenolics shape the finish. This is a really impressive wine here. It is gorgeous, saline and even a little febrile, but good for that. 13.5% alcohol’s sealed under screw cap.” 96/100 The Wine Advocate
