Terenzuola Permano Vermentino Trebbiano IGT Costa Toscana – 2022

The organic-certified Terenzuola family winery produce delicious Vermentino-based white and red wines in the Colli di Luni wine region on the border of Tuscany and Liguria, about 5kms from the Mediterranean Sea just south of the Cinque Terre.

This rich, dry, full bodied and complex white wine comes from a field blend of 14 different grape varieties – mainly Vermentino and Trebbiano –  grown on vines planted in 1905 in the Alpe Apuane district to the east of Carrara in northern Tuscany.

It is deep gold in colour due to its long (3 weeks) maceration on the skins during fermentation, and full of exotic fruit, herbs and spices. The wine was aged on its lees for 8 months in large ceramic vats– in just the same way wines were made in this region over 2,000 years ago!
