Te Mata Estate Syrah Hawkes Bay – 2021

This Syrah has an inviting fragrance of dark raspberries, black cherries and crushed violets. Rich ripe fruit jumps out on the palate; a black-forest banquet of boysenberry and exotic spices with dark cocoa on the finish. Bright and modern in style, but fresh and very classy. Delicious and extremely drinkable!

Winemaker’s tip:- serve with Feijoada – a Brazilian bean stew.

“The 2021 Syrah is a lovely wine. Delicious, in fact. The tannins are chalky and fine, bouncy and a little chewy (a very good thing). This is a gorgeous, slinky Syrah with a supple mouthfeel. Nice! This is spicy and very fine, and it features fruit from Gimblett Gravels, Dartmoor and BridgePa. The Bullnose fruit (the premium Syrah at Te Mata), if it falls out, will flow down into this Estate Syrah.” 93/100pts The Wine Advocate
