Schild Estate Ben Schild Reserve Shiraz Barossa – 2012
CHF 49.00 CHF 35.00
Pure, fresh, sweet vibrant blueberry fruit flavours, soft and silky tannins, perfectly integrated French and American oak; if you can imagine a cross between Barossa fruit and Burgundian (Vosne Romanée) silkiness of tannins, then this is that wine.
“At five years after the vintage, the 2012 Ben Schild Reserve Single Vineyard Shiraz is entering a sweet spot in terms of drinkability. It’s concentrated and rich, gussied up with 40% new oak. Vanilla is a factor, of course, but more prominent is the dark plum and black cherry fruit, which rolls in long, slow waves across the full-bodied palate. The tannins are supple, turning plush and velvety on the cocoa-tinged finish.” 91/100pts The Wine Advocate March 2018
