Delicious white Burgundy made by Pascal Clément, the former winemaker at Coche Dury in Meursault, one of Burgundy’s most illustrious producers!
This single vineyard white Burgundy comes from the lesser known appellation of Rully, just south of Puligny Montrachet in the Cote Chalonnaise district. It has the class and complexity of a wine twice its price, with aromas of “hedgerow flowers” such as acacia, hawthorn, honeysuckle, very fine elderberry, or violet, lemon, white peach or flint. With time, it develops notes of honey, quince, dried fruits.
On the palate, it is fruity; a lively, rounded, rich and lingering fruitiness: all the freshness and smoothness of marble.
THE TERROIR
The Côte Chalonnaise vineyard benefits from clay and limestone soils from the Jurassic, or earlier, limestone basement rocks.
