Grown just round the hill from the Grand Cru of Corton Charlemagne, this beautiful white wine has delicate flavours of wild flowers, white peach, spice and honey, combined with fine minerality. This is another delicious white Burgundy made by the former winemaker at Coche Dury in Meursault, one of Burgundy’s cult domaines!
THE TERROIR
Most of the vines face East or South, but some face North East. The altitude varies between 250 and 300 metres. At the foot of the hillside, clay and limestone soils are mixed with “chaillots” (silica residue of flintstone-encrusted limestone). These are loose soils, rich in potash and phosphoric acid. At the top, the brown or yellowish marl soils are dedicated to Chardonnay.
BEST SERVED WITH:-
Lively, light and cheerful, this is an ideal wine for sushi, which it will liven up while respecting their two-fold texture – crispy and soft. It marries well with fresh-water fish in a white sauce, or pasta and or risotto with seafood, which are complemented by its liveliness. It is also a great accompaniment for cheeses from the gruyere, blue and goat’s cheese families. Serve at: 10 – 12 °C.
