This wine is a collaboration between Jean-Nicolas Méo of cult Burgundy domaine Méo Camuzet and his friend Jay Boberg, an American music mogul. Jean-Nicolas, like several of his compatriots before him (Drouhin et al) recognised the amazing potential of Oregon’s Willamette Valley for producing top quality Pinot Noir in 2011 and this project started soon afterwards. 2017 was their 4th vintage and each year the quality improves dramatically.
“The 2017 Willamette Valley is a pure and vibrant ruby in the glass, with aromatics of tart cherry and crushed strawberry, alongside hints of dried rose petal and lavender. The cool vintage reveals a wine which is lithe and ethereal on the palate, a bit shy in its youth, but with fine texture and tannin. A very pretty wine, already well-balanced and approachable. Seductive, with an elegant lightness that makes it very drinkable and enjoyable.” Winemaker
““Deep, glistening red. Sexy, assertively perfumed aromas of fresh red fruits, potpourri and baking spices, with a hint of cola in the background. Juicy and focused on the palate, Jay’s 2017 Pinot Noir offers vibrant raspberry, bitter cherry, blood orange and rose pastille flavors…” 93/100pts Vinous
