Moss Wood Amy's Margaret River, Western Australia - 2023

Moss Wood Amy’s Margaret River, Western Australia – 2023

CHF 24.90

Moss Wood’s great value “Amy’s” is one of our favourite examples from the beautiful Margaret River wine region. A blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 6% Malbec and 6% Petit Verdot with ripe, concentrated cassis fruit, well-structured tannins and good freshness and elegance. From the fantastic 2023 vintage, this is a super quality second wine to the estate’s more famous Cabernet Sauvignon.

“Perfumed, deeply brooding and floral aromas of crushed blackberries, raspberries, dark cherries and potpourri with blueberry compote, baking spices, bitter chocolate and violets. The medium-bodied palate has a silky texture, finely tuned tannins and real depth of fruit with mineral notes and a vibrant finish. Delicious.” 95/100 James Suckling and his Number 10 ranked wine in his Top 100 Value Wines of 2025

“The 2023 Amy’s hails from a superb vintage in Margaret River. Mild, dry conditions set the tone for the season, and while many of the wines are yet to be released, the early indications are that this could be one of the most astounding vintages of Margaret River’s modern era history. We shall see. You get flowers and purple fruits, fresh leather and iodine, nori and crushed shells, with dried herbs and threads of invisible acidity. This is a superb rendition of Amy’s. It’s a testament to the ongoing attention to detail in viticulture and the soft hand of the season. 14% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.” 94/100 The Wine Advocate

“Deep dark purple-red; intense, essency cassis, dark plum, violets and toasty oak on the nose, the palate succulent and fruit-sweet, with almost lush presence and a touch of graphitey tannin on the finish. Full bodied, rich and ripe—an almost opulent wine. A little more time will soften it further.” Huon Hooke, The Real Review
