Leeuwin Estate Prelude Chardonnay Margaret River – 2014

Leeuwin’s Prelude Chardonnay is generally seen as the Estate’s “baby Art Series” or “second” Chardonnay, but it always represents fantastic quality at a very fair price. 2014 is perhaps this wine’s best ever vintage. Matthew Jukes awarded Leeuwin Estate his “Winery of the Year” for 2017/18 and this wine is one of the 2 key reasons behind this. He says the following about it in his Top 100 Australian wine review 2017/18:-
“2014 Prelude Chardonnay can never again be referred to as the second wine from Leeuwin because it is, in its own right, a remarkable wine. I gave this wine 18.5/20 in my notes and then looked back – this is the same score I gave to their Art Series Chardonnay in years gone by and this shows the progress the winery continues to make year on year.”
