Kumeu River Estate Chardonnay Auckland – 2016

Kumeu River’s “Estate” Chardonnay has such perfect balance of crisp acidity, warm mango and pear fruit, and gently integrated butterscotch and vanilla notes from its maturation in Burgundy barrels, that it could very easily be mistaken for a good Burgundy Premier Cru. Made my Master of Wine Paul Brakowitch just outside Auckland, within 30kms of the Pacific Ocean to east and west.
