|When to drink|
Kelley Fox is one of the wine world’s unsung heroes. She makes beautifully balanced, fragrantly-fruited Pinot Noirs in miniscule quantities from her biodynamically-tended vineyards in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. For me there are few better Pinot Noir producers than her in the USA.
“The Maresh bottling is one I feel very deeply entrained with each year, and more so with each vintage. These vines were planted on their own roots in 1970. This time spent each year working in these blocks has changed me. I have the utmost love and respect for these plants of great and sometimes mischievous character. Taken from the back label: “The wine from these vines leads me to imagine a beautiful threshold of Earth and stars, and its essence and mystery is this living edge.” The Maresh Liminal is a light-medium, youthful and noble blue-red with that is full of lightflickering transparency. It is ethereal and light of being-and beautifully disarming. Of course, the nose is full of Hood strawberries with the cool freshness of rain and the Pacific Ocean in the spring air, along with spices and other delicious notes that are ineffable. This silk winged Maresh has a long finish and is packed with pleasure. I can’t wait to drink this in a few years” Kelley Fox
