J.Boutin Nos Granites Ciselés Crozes Hermitage Blanc – 2023

This 100 year old vineyard at 350m altitude in the north of Crozes Hermitage produces one of the most delicious white wines from the Marsanne grape I have had the pleasure to taste. It has a sizzlingly fresh minerality resulting from the rugged granite soils of this area combined with its fairly elevated position. It is medium bodied with a mix of flavours of honey roasted hazelnuts, mint and a hint of white truffle. A glorious Marsanne which is just as good as most of the much more famous (and expensive) white wines from Hermitage, just to the north.
