Made in traditional “methode Champenoise” style from a blend of 53% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 7% Pinot Meunier, this classy sparkling wine was left for 36 months on its lees during its important second fermentation in bottle. This is a very impressive English sparkler with crisp, refreshing acidity, intense, ripe English apple fruit favours and a bready, biscuity complexity from its long ageing on its lees. Perfect with simple fish and chips or more sophisticated smoked salmon!
“Disgorged in May 2019, Gusbourne’s 2015 Brut Reserve is very good, wafting from the glass with scents of pear, toasted bread, mandarin orange, iodine and smoke. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and enveloping, it’s seamless and charming, with lively acids and a youthfully frothy mousse. This isn’t as concentrated as its stablemates, but it’s certainly long on complexity.” 90/100 The Wine Advocate
