Made in tradtional “methode Champenoise” style from a blend of 68% Chardonnay, 22% Pinot Noir and 10% Pinot Meunier, this classy sparkling wine was left for 96 months on its lees during its important second fermentation in bottle!
The 2010 Summer was warm and sunny but an unsettled September and October meant a longer than expected development of the grapes to full maturity. The result was Chardonnay grapes of wonderful finesse and ageing potential. This is a very impressive English sparkler with crisp, refreshing acidity, ripe English apple fruit favours and an intensely bready, biscuity complexity from its long ageing on its lees.
