The 2021 vintage was a tricky one throughout Switzerland, but the village of Malans was protected from widespread frost damage in April by its surrounding mountains and unique microclimate. An extremely wet July was then saved by a beautiful, long and sunny Alpine Autumn, so that Georg’s 2021 wines have beautiful fruit purity, freshness and minerality.
This Merlot comes from Georg Fromm’s Schöpfi vineyard. It is medium bodied with flavours of dark fruits, plums and spice and a touch of vanilla. The tannins are gentle and round and well balanced with the wine’s vibrant, fresh acidity.
