This wine comes from a vineyard which was rated a “first growth” in the Marie Therese classification of Austrian vineyards in 1787. The Brda region of Slovenia used to belong to Austria until the First World War, then to Italy where it was a part of the Collio wine region until the Second World War. It is located just over the border from Gorizia in North East Italy.
This dry white wine is made from 40 year old Sauvignon Vert vines planted at 190 metres altitude on clay soils. It is fresh and aromatic with lively acidity combined with some richness and good fruit weight on the palate.
