“The 2011 Marsannay Clos du Roi has one of the most regular terroirs in Marsannay according to Sylvain Pataille: thin and gravelly and not dissimilar to Beaune Greves. Raised in around 20% new oak, it has a lovely, expressive bouquet with dark plum, orange peel and blood orange infused with fine mineralite. The palate is medium-bodied with a ripe, rounded entry and good structure and a gentle, insistent grip. There are plenty of sappy black fruits here with a sense of confidence on the finish. Excellent. Drink now-2019.” Neil Martin
