The Chiappini family are truly one of the Bolgheri region’s best kept secrets! They are a small, family wine business, 100% organic, producing top quality red and white wines at a fraction of the price of some of their more illustrious neighbours. The location of their vineyards is impeccable: directly next to Ornellaia and opposite Le Macchiole!
They are gradually planting more and more Cabernet Franc vines on their estate as they believe this grape will play a vital role in Bolgheri’s future.
Their 2021 “Guado” has 30% Cabernet Franc, 30% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon from their oldest plots of vines. It is full bodied, dense and powerful but with wonderful elegance and freshness from the top quality 2021 vintage. The flavours roll across the mouth, tannins are silky smooth and the finish extremely long. A sublime red!
