Charles Heidsieck Blanc Des Millenaires – 2007

2007 is only the seventh vintage Charles Heidsieck have released of their prestige Blanc De Blancs Champagne. This wine is only released in exceptional years which have long ageing capacity.

On the nose it has youthful aromas of citrus, grapefruit and quince with a hint of chalky minerality which is typical of the best vineyard sites of the Cotes des Blancs. 

In the mouth there is intense acidity, similar to the 2004 vintage of this wine in its youth. With flavours of lemon meringue pie and saline notes, it is full bodied, complex and opulent with a very long finish. This should develop beautifully in bottle over the next 15-20 years.
