Caroline Morey Santenay Blanc Les Cornieres Blanc – 2022

Caroline is the wife of top winemaker Pierre Yves Colin Morey and is now making her own impressive range of wines at their joint winery. Her wines have a little less oak and, dare I say it, even more minerality than Pierre Yves’!
This vineyard is located just below Santenay Le Haut, not far from 1er cru Maladieres. A quick drive through the vineyards of Santenay and it is very clear how much limestone terroir peaks through and so perhaps it is not surprising that some growers are returning to planting Chardonnay in these sites once again.
“Pale lemon and lime. The bouquet is quite elegant with a little generosity of fruit behind. This is perfectly balanced, not trying to be what it isn’t, with a lovely energy of fruit behind.
