This 100% organic and sustainable producer is based in the heart of Puglia’s best vineyard land – the area of Gioia del Colle. They make Primitivos unlike any others, with delicious weight of fruit combined with freshness, vibrancy and a real sense of identity. This was the only winery from Puglia featured in the latest edition of Jancis Robinson and Hugh Johnson’s World Wine Atlas, and one of only 4 wineries selected from the whole of southern Italy!

No chemicals are used in the vineyards or winery; all the vineyards are 100% owned by the Fatalone family and are not irrigated; all the grapes are hand-picked and fermented using local wild yeasts; owner Pasquale Petrera plays classical music in the barrel cellar to soothe and mellow his wines as they age! And the winery is 100% sustainable and carbon neutral – for example all electricity used comes from solar power.

In short, these are Primitivos unlike any others we have tried!
