A bright golden colour with a delicate mousse, this Blanc De Blancs has classic Chardonnay aromas of green apple, citrus and mineral notes combined with buttered toast, brioche and Tarte Tatin richness from extended lees ageing (at least 42 months). A long, cool July and August have given this wonderfully zesty, appley acidity to balance the complex fruit flavours. This is a serious contender to prestige cuvee Champagne! This wine is a great accompaniment to seafood in general, but is perfect with freshly shucked oysters.
“Disgorged in February 2020, Gusbourne’s 2015 Brut Blanc de Blancs bursts with aromas of crisp green orchard fruit, freshly baked bread, nougat and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and incisive, with a fleshy core of fruit, tangy acids and a youthfully frothy mousse, it concludes with a saline finish. This is a superb effort that I’d love to revisit with a bit more age on cork.” 92+/100 Wine Advocate
