Moss Wood Ribbon Vale Cabernet Sauvignon Margaret River, West Australia – 2015

Keith and Clare Mugford purchased their Ribbon Vale vineyard back in 2000. Although it is less than 1km away from their original Moss Wood vineyard, it is more elevated and faces south rather than north, so is cooler and the grapes take longer to ripen.

In the perfect 2015 vintage in Margaret River this vineyard has truly come of age! This blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc is rich, full bodied and firm in structure, but has a glorious cassis- and violet-flavoured fruit density which makes it approachable in its youth. Don’t be fooled; this is a serious wine with excellent ageing potential over the next 15-20 years.
