Majella Malleea Cabernet Shiraz Coonawarra – 2012

This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz from Coonawarra in South Australia has tremendous ageing potential and is only now – in 2018 – entering its optimum drinking window. It is one of the finest Cabernet-based wines not only from Coonawarra, but of all Australia, and I recommend it whole-heartedly!

Deep garnet, purple. The 2012 The Malleea Cabernet Sauvignon / Shiraz is very spicy on the nose showing Indian spice, sandalwood and preserved plums, creme de cassis and earthy notes. Medium to full-bodied, it has great intensity and finesse with medium levels of fine tannins and a long finish.
