The name “Flint Rock” epitomises the fine mineral structure and savoury elegance of wines grown in the wildly remote and awsesomely beautiful Great Southern region of Western Australia.
The Great Southern is cool, windy and fairly wet by Australian standards as it lies between the Southern Indian Ocean and the Antarctic Ocean. This fast upcoming wine region is making some fantastic Chardonnay, and this is a perfect example. It has delicate and subtle notes of honeydew melon, yellow peach and lemon zest with notes of brioche and nutmeal. The palate is fresh and focused with zingy acidity, typical of this area’s cooler climate.
