Gusbourne Estate Brut Rosé Sparkling Wine, Kent, England – 2016

Delicate pink in appearance, with soft summer berries and floral notes on the nose. The palate shows bright red fruits, driven by ripe strawberries, fresh cherries and redcurrants, with a crisp freshness and creamy, rounded texture on the finish.
This sparkling rosé is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir, 39% Chardonnay and 1% Pinot Meunier, with 8.7g/l of residual sugar and 12% alcohol. It spent 36months on its lees during second fermentation to give additional intensity and its gentle bread and brioche aftertaste.
“Disgorged in October 2020, Gusbourne’s 2016 Brut Rosé is showing very nicely, unfurling in the glass with a youthfully reserved nose of ripe apples, mandarin, red berries and peony. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and complete, with tangy acids, fine concentration and a pearly mousse, it’s tightly wound after its recent disgorgement, but it’s evidently a very fine bottle in the making.” 90+/100 The Wine Advocate
