The long, warm and sunny 2022 vintage in the Bündner Herrschaft produced Chardonnay and Pinot Noirs with beautifully ripe fruit flavours but which retain plenty of freshness, elegance
and a juicy acidity. This was one of the best vintages in Georg Fromm’s long winemaking career!
On the nose this already shows real complexity and depth of fruit; herbal spices, florality, sour cherry, strawberry, eucalyptus, cedar and white pepper. On the palate it has a fresh, juicy attack followed by vibrant acidity. The use of 50% whole bunches in the vinfication of this wine has given fine, delicate tannins and a silky texture, combined with noticeable spiciness and minerality. And like every great Pinot, the Schöpfi shows its unique potential in its long, elegant and aromatically complex finish.
