Fromm Chardonnay Malans – 2021

The 2021 vintage was a tricky one throughout Switzerland, but the village of Malans was protected from widespread frost damage in April by its surrounding mountains and unique microclimate. An extremely wet July was then saved by a beautiful, long and sunny Alpine Autumn, so that Georg’s 2021 wines have beautiful fruit purity, freshness and minerality.
This Chardonnay has very fresh, steely acidity – similar in style to a Chablis – with real tension and minerality on the finish. The oak influence is very gentle and tightly intermingled with the wine’s restrained, stone fruit flavours. This should develop nicely in bottle over 5-8years.
