This wine comes from a vineyard which was rated a “first growth” in the Marie Therese classification of Austrian vineyards in 1787. The Brda region of Slovenia used to belong to Austria until the First World War, then to Italy where it was a part of the Collio wine region until the Second World War. It is located just over the border from Gorizia in North East Italy.
The white Ribolla Gialla grape is unique to Collio and Slovenia. From a “first growth” classified vineyard and 60 year old vines, this white wine has enticing aromas of white peach and white flowers. Dry, pure, bright and fresh, it has good weight and intensity of fruit and a noticeable bite of minerality on the finish. Recognised as the best Ribolla in the region!
