D’Oliveiras Terrantez Madeira – 1977

Mouth filling figs, dates and chocolate orange flavours, a little sweetness but not too much and noticeable acidity; delicious now, but still a child by D’Oliveiras standards…

“Matured in wood for thirty years, the 1977 Terrantez was bottled in 2009. It has a lively bouquet that comes racing out of the blocks with dried honey, apricot, quince and marmalade aromas. The palate is very well-balanced with rapier-like acidity. It is harmonious and focused with resinous/oxidative elements neatly interwoven into the viscous, honeyed fruit, leaving the finish harmonious, long and satisfying”. Neil Martin.
