Desvignes Morgon Cote Du Py Cuvée Javernières – 2023

Javernières is a small vineyard at the foot of the famous Cote de Py in Morgon. The soil here is a mix of clay and iron and the vines have an average age of 40 years. The exposure of the vineyard is southeast and the vines have been worked organically since 2005.
With aromas of ripe blackberries, cherries, raspberries and violets, it has lovely weight of fruit, elegance and finesse and a long finish. 13.5% alcohol. Pure indulgence!
“The 2023 Morgon Côte du Py Javernières is sourced from both north- and south-facing sites rooted in clay and blue stone soils. From the top, the nose reveals aromas of cherries, raspberries, jasmine tea and orange blossoms. The wine opens elegantly with a rounded attack and slowly takes shape as the condensed core of sandstone-like tannins command a lengthy, directed progression, as the flavor fades out and the acquired youthful tension comes to a head.” 91+/100 Wine Advocate
