Charles Heidsieck Brut Vintage La Collection Crayere – 1979

Disgorged in 1999 after almost 20 years on its lees, this amazing Champagne was only released onto the market from Charles Heidsieck’s deep chalk cellars (Crayères) in Autumn 2019. It has a deep golden colour and beautiful aromas of old bread, smoke and spice. It is remarkably fresh on the palate and hugely complex, with flavours of biscuits and brioches, mushrooms and fallen leaves. According to Cyrill Brun the winemaker, it is perfect served with truffle risotto or simple Emmental cheese!
