This dry white wine was grown on quartz-rich soils at 750-1000m altitude in the Dolomite mountains. The Kerner grape is a crossing between Riesling and Schiava, and the wonderful, rapier-like acidity of the Riesling grape is clear to taste in this example.
It has crystal pure, peach and stone fruit flavours combined with gentle, Riesling-typical, petrolly notes from its extended ageing in bottle. Fresh, elegant, fine and complex, this is a wonderful example of how well the fresh white wines of this mountainous part of Italy can age.
Drink with light appetisers, cold meats, egg or mushroom dishes, poached freshwater fish and shellfish, or on its own as an apero.
