This is a crystal-pure Puligny Montrachet with good depth of apple, pear and melon fruit balanced by gentle oak flavours. In the cool and difficult 2021 vintage, Jacques Carillon decided to downgrade much of his premier cru Puligny to “simple” village level, so this wine has an extra level of intensity and finesse to usual.
Jacques Carillon is consistently one of this famous village’s finest producers, and makes fairly priced Puligny relative to his peers.
