“One of the best domaines in Burgundy” according to local legend Dominique Lafon. An up and coming, biodynamic producer making elegant, complex and extremely fine reds.
Their village Savigny is delicious. It has fresh and spicy red cherry fruit flavours, notable structure and depth, and gentle hints of pine. Really impressive and interesting – this producer is one of my favourite Burgundy discoveries of the year!
“Aromas of rose petals, dark chocolate and loamy soil marry with rich, plummy fruit, introducing the 2018 Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Fourneaux, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and gourmand wine built around powdery tannins and succulent acids. This confirms its fine showing in barrel, and the ripeness of the vintage means that it’s quite approachable out of the gates.” 91pts The Wine Advocate
