Pinot Noir was first planted in the Morges region 600 years ago, when it was known as Servagnin. Today, only this small region just west of Lausanne, looking over beautiful Lake Geneva, is entitled to use the name Servagnin. This wine was produced biodynamically and tastes similar to Pinot Noir yet has its own, fascinating and unique character! It has distinctly spicy aromas of red cherries with hints of pine needles, and surprising depth of ripe red cherry fruit on the palate, with notes of pepper and spice and perfectly balanced fresh acidity and gentle tannins. For this price it is one of the most impressive Swiss reds I have tried!
