|When to drink|
Condrieu is a tiny “appellation” around 30kms south of Lyon on the western banks of the Rhone river. Its steep, granite slopes produce the finest Viognier grapes in the world. This example, from one of the region’s top winemakers, has delicious peach and apricot fruit, some richness from 9 months’ development on its lees in used barrels, and refreshing minerality on the finish. A stylish apero you will love this Christmas!
